light
far away
I ran
towards it
but it got father away
and soon
I lost it

The two topics that I'm keeping up with the book are Parents and tradition. Parents. Kambili's parents are very different from each other. Her dad is more outspoken and her mom stays in the background. The dad is well liked in the community and the community thought he should leave her because she couldn't give him the right amount of kids. Her dad has a bad but well-hidden temper and her mom is very tight-lipped. Papa is so stubborn and stuck in his ways that he exiles his own father because he doesn't believe the same way Papa does. tradition tradition is very important to their family. Everything has to be done a certain way and Papa makes them pray for their sins. The kids always do what their parents tell them to because its the "right" way to do things. It seems like its traditional to have a bundle of kids and when Mama couldn't deliver that,  the unmma wanted Papa to leave her.

      Naomi has made  a great  number of poems, but I chose this one because the name sounded  strong . What does it mean to be united? That is a question that I have been trying to answer for a while now. Does it mean to be loyal and  true  to yourself? The definition of unity is the state of being unified or joined as a whole. United is about how the different state mottos combine into one. They combine the mottos into one message about unity. She has good sentence fluency throughout her piece. It ties into America being a unified country.

        My topic is about Mongolian Society under the reign of Genghis Khan in the 13th century.  My research question is: How did Genghis Khan make such a vast empire in such a short period of time and what was that empire like? My topic is interesting because Genghis Khan built one of the only nomadic empires to last. One reason I wanted to research this topic was that I felt like no one really knew anything about the Mongols. People know that they were nomadic and that it.      My subcategories are the Mongol army, what religion they practice, the food they ate, the Mongolian government, and their conquests in the 13th century. The empire matters because they helped start the Slik Road. They opened the entire empire for trade.
