free post week 6

This fall break was very eventful. I watched A LOT of Netflix. I started and finished a series called Stranger Things. It was crazy but very entertaining. I finished it in like three days, so I barely did anything else! I also rewatched the last season of The Office. I tried to start Riverdale, but I wasn't feeling it.       On Thanksgiving day, I stayed in bed until noon and awoke to several families and friends greeting me and already eating. I had to catch up and fill my plate with food made by my grandmother. But overall, it was a great break!

draft thesis evidence

"Then the sea breathed again in a long slow sigh the water boiled white and pink over the rock and when it went sucking back again the body of Piggy was gone. This time the silence was complete. Ralph's lips formed a word, but no sound came." This was when piggy died and a little of what happened immediately after his death. It is important because it shows how Ralph reacted to his death.   The reason this quote relates to my thesis is that it is about the relationship between Piggy and Ralph. This can be found on page 181.

Thomas post- LOTF Reading Response Pg. 91 Naya's post-symbolism

analyze a passage

The chief snatched one of the few spears that were left and poked Sam in the ribs. "What d'you mean by it, eh?" said the chief fiercely.  "What d'you mean by coming with spears? What d'you mean by not joining my tribe?" The prodding became rhythmic.  Sam yelled. "That's not the way." Roger edged past the chief, only just avoiding pushing him with his shoulder.  The yelling ceased, and Samneric lay looking up in quiet terror.  Roger advanced upon them as one wielding a nameless authority. (182) This passage shows that Jack and Roger are becoming a team of terror against Samneric. It also shows that they are becoming the new Ralph and Piggy as their bond between them grows.      The passage also shows that Jack and Roger use violence to get what they want. Jack pokes Sam in the ribs just so he would answer their questions. They don't even give him the chance to respond.jack just kept poking Sam It shows the difference between Ralph

Symbolism week 5

Jane never had seen anything like it before. It was tall, yellow, and covered in brown spots. Her eyes and mind were filled with wonder, and she started to take out her phone. It never even saw her before it put its foot and crushed her flat. When she got to the hospital, the doctors tried and tried to save her. Her husband, Dave, and her kids arrived but couldn't get to her in time.      Jane knew her time was limited to only a few minutes, so all she could think about was her family and the tall and yellow thing that changed her life forever. P.S the tall and yellow thing is a giraffe!

reading response to lotf

The Lord of the Flies is a fascinating book. It captivated me on the first paragraph of the first page. One thing that puzzled me was the number of boys on the island and if all of them survived the crash. One thing my reading was led me to notice was how weird and proper the English talk. All their strange words like "bonkers!" or "Wacco!" But their sense of nationalism is very familiar in the way of Americans having that same feeling(but stronger:)). I think that sense of patriotism is what held them together at the beginning. But by now they have unraveled entirely, and it will probably go downhill from here.

vocab week 2

The situation escalated very quickly, and Thomas could not handle it anymore. He had become infamous , and he knew it. So Thomas left town and took the contraption that was harming the city and never came back. But he would always have a place in his heart for the city of Baltimore. His wife and kids arrived home later that night and found all his belongings in disarray. His wife, Sarah, called the police but to no avail. She then realized the phone cord had been cut.
